Look no further as I’ve tried quite a few experiences in my time using some of the UK’s best online household names who’ve been dishing out experience after experience to the UK masses for over 10 years and they are still going strong to this day. Not only making ideal gifts for men but for anyone who has a desire to sample new experiences and try daredevil activities that challenge their boudaries.
Before I list my personal favourite companies and experiences I’ll mention one important thing for you to consider and that is, do make sure that if you’re buying the gift experience for a husband or son or even a male friend, then you buy a gift that you know they’ll love and remember for a very long time as otherwise you really do run the risk of potentially upsetting them if they participate in an experience that ‘takes them out of their comfort zone’.
Not all of us like to try daredevil or white knuckle activities, especially as we get older.
Anyway, without further ado here’s my top 5 list of brilliant websites that offer some really exciting things to do, no matter what the weather is doing!!!
Airsoft from Smartbox Airsoft is one of those paintball/shoot-em up sort of things which takes place in real-life underground building and tunnels that were used by the Royal Navy in the last war. A great day out for most men as long as there’s plenty of other men to shoot at. Thought this was just for kids, think again as there were thousands of men who participated in paintball experiences last year alone.
Another favourite gift for men especially the ones who like a bit of water in their face is Zapcating. Zapcats are small, almost jet propelled twin hull boats that fly across the water at high speed, what’s even more exciting is that Zapcats can spin around on a coin the size of a pound before shooting off in the opposite direction across a lake, river or harbour. Here’s my favourite Zapcat experience. Zapcats are relatively new as a water sport but brilliant fun and once you’ve experienced Zapcat racing you’ll most definitely need more!
This next one really is just “plane sailing” as it’s a wing walking experience. The good news is that the plane does all the walking for you (or should I say ‘flying’ as all you’re required to do is to strap yourself into a safety frame on the top wing. Thereafter… it’s all downhill.. a bit uphill, then some more downhill and to finish your walk off there’s a few roly poly aerobatic dives thrown in for good measure! Wing walking is an extreme experience, men love it, I loved it and it’s one of those things that just needs ‘doing in life’ if you know what I mean. Into the Blue also do a wing walking experience and I think it’s offered at quite a wide choice of flying schools around the UK – the one I went on was in Yorkshire.
Of course, you don’t always have to go with the ‘high adrenalin experience’ gifts for men, there’s plenty of traditional things you can buy for those looking for less of a challenge for example, Nauticalia specialise in a wide variety of the more normal gifts (although they do still offer experiences) that you can play with without getting out of your chair or getting your feet wet, telescopes, compasses, clocks of all shapes and sizes abound but be warned, prices can be a little on the steep side.
